AZ Hello Brushed: A Rustic Sans Serif Font for Bold Branding

AZ Hello Brushed on a Café Logo Concept

Opening a blank brand board one afternoon, I knew I needed something with character. That’s when AZ Hello Brushed, a Sans Serif font inspired by old car repair signs, caught my eye. It felt like the kind of typeface that could bring warmth and nostalgia to a modern design. I tested it on a logo concept for a boutique café—something rustic but approachable. The result was unexpected yet compelling. AZ Hello Brushed had a rough, hand-painted edge that made the café feel like a hidden gem in the neighborhood.

The font’s personality is bold and unapologetic, much like the vintage signage it emulates. Its thick strokes and slightly uneven edges give it a sense of authenticity that can’t be faked. When paired with a minimalist serif font for body text, the contrast brought clarity and visual interest to the branding without overwhelming the message.

AZ Hello Brushed in Packaging Mockups

Next, I tried AZ Hello Brushed on a packaging mockup for a handmade soap brand. The idea was to evoke a sense of craftsmanship and local charm. The font looked incredible on a label—its texture gave the product an artisanal feel. I noticed that it worked best for short phrases or brand names rather than long descriptions. Using it as a headline font on the front of the package helped draw attention while maintaining readability.

On a larger scale, like a product box or gift wrap, AZ Hello Brushed added a touch of nostalgia that aligned perfectly with the brand’s story. However, I found that using it for extended text—like ingredient lists or detailed instructions—was not ideal due to its stylized nature. For such cases, pairing it with a clean Sans Serif or even a traditional serif font helped maintain balance.

AZ Hello Brushed for Social Media Graphics

When designing social media graphics for the same handmade soap brand, I used AZ Hello Brushed as the main display font for Instagram posts and Facebook banners. The font’s unique style stood out against minimal backgrounds and bright colors, making it perfect for creating a strong visual identity. It didn’t look cluttered, even with emojis and hashtags included.

I also experimented with using AZ Hello Brushed in a few different weights and styles. The lighter variations were great for accents or smaller text elements, while the bolder versions worked well for headlines and call-to-action buttons. This versatility makes it a great option for both digital and print-based marketing materials.

One thing to note is that AZ Hello Brushed should be used sparingly in web design. While it looks fantastic on a hero section or a banner, using it for long paragraphs or body text may reduce readability. Always test it at different sizes and distances to ensure it remains legible across all platforms.

AZ Hello Brushed in Business Cards and Stationery

For a small creative studio’s business cards, I wanted something memorable. AZ Hello Brushed fit the bill perfectly. The font’s retro appeal matched the studio’s focus on originality and hands-on design. Printed on matte cardstock, it had a tactile quality that made the cards feel special.

When designing stationery like envelopes and letterheads, I found that AZ Hello Brushed worked well as a header or signature font. It added a personal touch that elevated the overall presentation. Just be mindful of spacing and alignment—since it’s a stylized Sans Serif, it needs room to breathe for optimal impact.

If you're considering AZ Hello Brushed for your next project, make sure to review the available styles and weights. Some versions include subtle alternates and ligatures that can enhance the design further. Also, always check the licensing terms if you plan to use it in commercial work, especially for print-on-demand products or digital assets.
